The transparent appearance was seen on the runways of Chanel, Oscar de la Renta, and Alexander Wang and so on. Life in plastic is one of the major themes for the runway of spring 2018.

Different from the clear shoes of the past which usually featured Lucite heels or see through vinyl uppers, the clear plastic shoes spring 2018 took a step further and put a plastic cover on the outside of shoes including sneakers, sandals, pumps or boots. It looks like a rain cover and may function as such too. The new approach cleverly avoided the ventilation problem of regular plastic shoes, as well as provided a cool makeover on the shoes for a futurist touch with the shimmering shine of plastic. Best of all, when you are tired of plastic shoes, you can always cut off the plastic covers and wear the shoes inside, which shall be as good as new as it has been preserved in its original clear packaging all the time.
