Coming from his two inspirations of the Victorian era and the Fifties, 3.1 Phillip Lim shoes spring 2017 at New York Fashion Week are elevated with flatform sandals, mixed with feminine style of pointy toe mules and booties. All the shoes are heavily studded along the upper edges for an edgy retro look and constructed with python, tough metallic leather or suede in bold hues.
Rivets and bold color palette set a dramatic tone for the total shoe collection, while fusing classic and contemporary themes at the same time. “This is real rock ‘n’ roll. This is honky-tonk, badass rock ‘n’ roll.” Said Phillip Lim at back stage. He called it “my reaction to what is going on right now in our culture — it just felt right.”
