Anthony Vaccarello opened his spring 2015 collection at Paris fashion week with a logo sweatshirt, stamped with his name and the season, worn with one of his signature diagonally sliced miniskirts and a shrunken leather jacket.

Two themes, the workwear textiles with brass hardware and heat-transferred block letters lasered out of aluminium foil, run through the collection of micro skirts, skinny blazers, and plunging party dresses. Vaccarello hinted that the block letters were inspired partly by France’s many protests and partly by the artist Richard Prince.

As for the shoes, the designer continued the start point of ships and sailors, with the brass mushroom buttons, metallic straps, chain, brass buckles and O-ring/D-ring connections, which are both functional and decorative. Navy blue and black leather were overlaid with glossy python print patent straps to contrast the antique looks of the hardware. The side of the shoes are decorated with wave like flaps. The designer also experimented the rubber molded straps (look like wide tie wraps) on the shoe design along with the plastic buckles.
