2016 Tony Awards took place at the Beacon Theater on Sunday (June 12) in New York City.
Considered as the highest U.S. theater honor, Tony awards celebrates the excellence of the outstanding achievement in live Broadway theater. It may have been Broadway’s biggest night, but stars from TV, film and more got in on the fun too. The participants accessorized with a silver ribbon, worn in memory of victims of the mass shooting in Orlando.
The red carpet was studded with celebrities including nominees Lupita Nyong’o, Leslie Odom, Jr. Daveed Diggs, Sophie Okonedo, Michelle Williams, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Jonathan Groff, along with high profile presenters like Jake Gyllenhaal, Uzo Aduba, Neil Patrick Harris, Cate Blanchett.
As the celebrities hit the red carpet , let’s take a look at the best & worst red carpet shoes of Tony Awards 2016:
And the worst red carpet shoes of 2016 Tony Awards goes to (drum roll please): Keltie Knight’s nude sandals. The shoe style is one of a dozen boring strap sandals which have been repeatedly made appearance on the red carpet for the past three years, and she still can’t get them in the right size. Her toes are all hanging out of the insole, as if the shoes are too small. But actually the reason for such awful look is because these shoes are about one size too big for her feet.
The circumference of the front strap can not hold the foot in the right place since it’s too big. The feet would slide forward more than they should. So Rule No. 1 for the red carpet shoes: make sure the shoes are in your size! And Rule No. 2 is hiring a stylist with creativity, especially when it comes to the shoe selection.
