Burberry collection spring summer 2017 was inspired by Henry Moore, the famous British sculptor, well-known for his semi-abstract monumental bronze sculptures.
For the second see-now-buy-now collection, the footwear on the runway didn’t have many variations. In the silhouette of pointy toe and tight fit fabric shaft, the black sock boots on the runway are grounded with conceptual sculpture heels, delivering a vision of modern beauty in its simplicity.
“Moore’s work is about changing the form, putting it in different directions,” said Christopher Bailey, chief creative director and chief creative officer. “His shoulders were suddenly up here, the breasts were suddenly down here, and I liked that idea of putting something on, turning it in a completely different way, deconstructing it, changing the shape of the body by moving the lines and the pieces in a more unconventional way.”
For men shoes, the oxfords are asymmetrically designed with off-balanced shoe lace and upper patterns.
