Christian Dior Spring 2015 Couture show was presented on January 26 in Paris. The catwalk was built with white metal scaffolding, a mirrored ceiling reflecting pink carpet everywhere.
Raf Simons, Dior designer, is keen to create connections for couture that wire to the wider world. Inspired by Fifties’ romance, Sixties’ experimentation and the wild freedom of the Seventies, the designer tried and succeeded in pushing fabric developments and embellishment techniques to create something truly magical.
The pleated skirts, embroidered ribbon dresses, plastic printed coats and psychedelic catsuits were executed to complex perfection. Everything was paired with stretchy rock-chic boots, over the ankle high or thigh high.
The boots mostly were presented with a wet glossy look, featuring back zipper opening and subtle square toe box. The patent, sequinned or plastic printed uppers were placed on caged heels made of four silver metal pins welded to reflective metal plates on top and bottom for stability.
From the material used to the graphic silhouette in bright colored blocks, the boots are stunningly simple yet with playfully erotic vibe.
