Erdem shoes spring summer 2017 at London Fashion Week are romantic with floral print and snakeskin, mixed with retro edgy flatform lace up sandals. The printed block heels, pointy toe, lace up front and buckled mules are all very feminine with brocade print to demonstrate a story from 17th century while projected in 1930’s France.
Erdem Spring Summer 2017 collection was inspired by the diver’s recent discovery of drowned wardrobe belonged to a Scottish courtier and lady in waiting, Jean Ker, who was sent to Netherlands for a secret spy mission before English Civil War in 1642.
With a fantasy of time travel, the designer imagined Jean Ker’s army of women landing on the beach in Deauville in the 1930’s.
“I love the idea that her army and her women landed at Deauville’s beach in 1930,” said Erdem Moralioglu “To me, the show was about a landing. There was something so very interesting about the idea, these 1650 nipped-in jackets with these Deauville-y cropped trousers and these sun hats.”
Vintage elements are mixed and matched on the runway shoes of Erdem spring 2017, including low block heels, which is the favorite heel shape for the shoes of both 17th century and 1930’s, brocade detailing on the upper and heels, silk uppers and brooches.
