Marc Jacobs shoes spring 2017 at New York Fashion Week are all 8 inch platforms. With a kind of Haute Couture approach, featuring studs, patchwork, embroidery and playful cartoonish custom prints, the extreme platforms are full of details on the uppers including funky multi buckled ankle boots, lace up knee high boots in bold candy color blocks and floral scattered sandals.
Rave culture, acid house and Boy George were among the inspirations for Marc Jacobs spring 2017 collection. The show kicked off to pulsing raver music. Runway was decorated with hanging light bulbs in various lengths. Models, including Karlie Kloss, Kendall Jenner, Taylor Hill, Jourdan Dunn, Adriana Lima, Irina Shayk, Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid, were teetering down the runway with mega platform boots and dreadlocks hair in shimmering satin shorts, doll dresses, multicolor rainbow socks, camouflage skirts and jackets.
“I have too much butt for those shorts, but I want every pair of shoes,” said Whoopi Goldberg at the front row of the show, “Those are the easiest to walk in. I wear giant heels. I thought they were beautiful. He just makes beautiful stuff.”
