“I decided I wanted to…do something much more, and kind of trying to find a new way of elegance,” said Miuccia Prada at the backstage. “Elegance sounds an old-fashioned word, but also for something meaningful, cultivated….We need at this moment something personal, intimate, real, more sensitive somehow.”

Prada spring summer 2017 fashion show took place on the runway with futuristic, spaceship-like metal mesh catwalk, six flat LED screens that broadcasted Russell’s work at the background.
According to the brand’s show notes, Prada collaborated with director and writer David O. Russell on a film installation comprising fragments of Past Forward, a “cinema poem”, a surreal, futuristic silent dreamscape with multiple actors replaying scenes in shifting combinations, which explained the futurist inspiration of Prada spring summer 2017 collection.
