Saint Laurent shoes fall winter 2017/2018 are about dark romanticism and tender toughness. “I love Monsieur Saint Laurent’s subversive approach to clothes, his dark romanticism with a hint of perversity. I wanted this collection to be like a re-reading, a radical fantasy of this heritage.” said Anthony Vaccarello at backstage.
Featuring pointy toe and mostly triangle chunky heels, the slouchy boots on the runway were designed with straight tailored pull on shafts, which loosely crinkled around the legs for a casual chic.
The shiny glossy leather delivered a hard-edgy toughness and softened by the ruffled down romantic folds. When switched to black velvet, shimmering shine of the opulent fabric added extra luxury and richness to the total design.
Then there were even shinier dressed up haute couture version of these boots, made of silver tone crystal mesh, sparkling in the runway lights, breathtaking! “I always relate YSL to parties, to evening,” said Vaccarello “I couldn’t do a show without those golden years, but I wanted to take that further.”
Saint Laurent mixed men’s and women’s looks for the first time this season. For men shoes, the design is quite straight forward streamlined in a dressed up style of slouchy ankle boots.
