Salvatore Ferragamo shoes spring summer 2017 at Milan fashion week are bold, edgy and sportswear influenced. The designer looked back at the brand’s famous archive of Judy Garland’s rainbow platforms designed by Salvatore Ferragamo in 1938 and reinvented the layered flatform base with sneaker rubber sole at the bottom. It’s a “collection reconnects with its stylistic heritage and progresses with contemporary experimentation.” as the show notes explained.
In a tight fit silhouette and earth tone color palette, the knitted sock completed the design on the boots for young casual chic style. For the sandals, the uppers are constructed with elastic bands for a modernized caged cut out look.
Flatforms for multi-color sandals are covered with elastic bands woven texture for a geometry interesting vision.
Fulvio Rigoni, the head of design for women’s ready-to-wear, took a very different approach on shoe designs compared to his predecessor Massimiliano Giornetti and replaced the usual high heeled “grown up” shoes with something more urban youths and street fashion influenced, towards the dark, but with the romanticism as well.
