How much would you pay for the egg and cookies branded with Chanel, or gummies shaped like Chanel No. 5 bottles?
Karl Lagerfeld presented their fall/winter 2014-2015 fashion show on Tuesday morning in a giant Chanel supermarket at the Grand Palais, almost 140,000 square foot in total!
It took four and half minutes for the models to walk through the aisles, which were stocked with over 500 products, including soda, eggs, meat, rubber gloves and doormat, all branded with Chanel.
Grocery shopping is part of daily life and so is fashion. Chanel proved you can be chic and fancy not just on a night out, but also for a grocery shopping. The designer continued the youthful, sporty and casual theme found in their Haute Couture Show earlier this year.
Functional cropped tops, colorful leggings, timeless tweed coats and skirt suits were paired with fashion sneakers or knee high sneaker boots, which are mostly made with matching Chanel tweet, knitted, flower prints, leather, suede and sparkly metallic.
The designer completed the supermarket shopping looks with egg holder shaped bags, supermarket metal baskets with Chanel purse in them, or bags sealed in cellophane. As if these were not enough, there were even plastic Chanel shopping carts. The fancy ladies in classic skirt suits were accompanied by a personal butler to carry their Chanel shopping bags.
As approaching to the end of the show, all the models were roaming around the space and picking up the groceries like in a real shopping scene. Karl Lagerfeld took a spin through the aisles with Cara Delevingne. A voice announced over the speaker that the Chanel shopping center was about to close but to enjoy the complimentary fruits and vegetables on the way out. My wallet would empty much quicker if all the supermarkets are as chic as Chanel’s.
Now let’s take a close look at the trainers from Chanel supermarket fashion show fall/winter 2014-2015. Can’t wait to see Chanel’s fans including Rihanna, Naomie Harris, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Lupita Nyong’o to get sporty in these.
