Clear or transparent shoes are everywhere on the runway of spring 2018. Including Alexander Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Prabal Gurung, Moschino and Fendi, many fashion labels presented their own versions of see through shoes made of clear vinyl, mesh or Lucite. Dior is the new name that shall be added to this long list.
Inspired by female artist, Dior spring 2018 collection was about female rights and empowering women. Featuring square to and low block heels, the shoes on the runway are elegant, classic chic and comfortable.
The under knee high boots were crafted with mesh and suede or patent leather, zipper at back while laced up at front. When styled with black white strappy over knee high socks, the fishnet functioned as a filter lens and delivered the visual interest that instantly changed the vibe of the boots from sexy appeal to something fun and playful.
The Mary-Jane pumps kept the essence of Dior classic style of ladylike elegance. Adorned with metallic letter of “Dior” on the straps, the Mary-Jane pumps are grounded with low block heels in order to be comfortable, which is particularly important to the millennials as the young customers no longer willingly to sacrifice comfort for style by walking in high heels.
Featuring thick sneaker sole, the pattern of black white checkerboard was used on the ankle boots of Dior spring 2018. Printed with brand name, the white shoe lace looped through golden tone eyelets, reconfirming the ongoing letters and alphabets trend in fashion is not going anywhere soon. It also enhanced the boots with youthfulness and street wear eccentricity, which is playing major role as the brand shifting the focus to younger customers.
