Replacing heels, sneakers have been the ultimate go-to shoes for many fashion wardrobes. Casual chic, comfortable and versatile, sneakers can be worn from work to weekend with almost any outfit including dresses, suits and cutoffs. They are gender neutral and athleisure fashionable. No surprise many fashion brands are leaning more in the direction of sneakers on the runway of spring 2018.
Different from previous seasons, it’s not just about white tennis shoes any more. The sneakers have gone through some major updates with many wild features including curved up toes, flower adornment, studs and spikes. The sporty footwear was refined, decorated and elevated in the way that it has never been done before.
Inspired by woman on a trip, designed by Jonathan Anderson, the sneakers on the runway of Loewe spring 2018 are reminder of Mexican pointy boots with the references to both elves and Aladdin. The statement-making curved up pointy toe tips are odd but refreshingly different. The design took the wild luxury fashion sneakers trend to the new height and spoke well to the “craft” tradition of this fashion house.
Louis Vuitton joined wild fashion sneaker trend with a futurist design of bulky sole runners. Put the classic romantic style aside, the sneakers on the runway of Louis Vuitton spring 2018 are designed to be well grounded (literally) in odd shape and structures. Look like a hybrid of Salmon Hiking shoes and Nike Air Presto, the sneakers turned up the volume of casual chic and ugly pretty style with a touch of punk built in.
Vivienne Westwood spring 2018 sneakers are colorful and joyful. Well decorated with tassels, fringe, embroidery, flowers or studs, the sneakers are like a celebration of life in multi dimensions with drastic adornments spread all over.
Collaborated with Air Jordan, the sporty footwear on the runway of Public School spring 2018 was designed with simplicity. Mixed elements of military service and sports, Public School played with shapes and heights on their sneakers of spring 2018. The slip-ons were covered with a thin clear plastic overshoe, following suit of clear shoe trend. The knee high sneakers were crafted in such a shape which looks like a knee protection.
