Balenciaga shoes spring summer 2017 at Paris fashion week are about the relationship between couture and fetishism. After introducing high heels for men, Demna Gvasalia, the creative director of Balenciaga, took the sock boots to the next level and introduced “pant-boots” made of neon spandex in the legging tight silhouette. The legging-like clingy shafts look kind of kinky, hugging the legs like a catsuit.
Grounded with self-covered stiletto and pointy toes, the spandex “pant-boots” also came in as thigh high version or printed with bold floral graphics for more drastic look.
After introduced high heels for men, Demna Gvasalia didn’t shy away from the square toe and chunky heels but added feminine touches for the female audience including burnished detailing, tapering down the thickness of the toe box and slim the off-set chunky heels with extra height:
Demna Gvasalia spring 2017 collection is in an effort honoring the work of Cristóbal Balenciaga with the designer’s own interpretation of couture and fetishism approach in strong silhouette.
