Balmain shoes spring summer 2017 at Paris fashion week dialed down on the brand’s signature sexy appeal, the beads or crystals, going for a relaxed approach and switched high stilettos for ultra-high platforms. Total three shoe designs were introduced on the runway today, including strap sandals, peep toe cut out bootie and cross strap flatform sandals.
The designer kept the upper simple and streamlined with a back zipper opening but experimented on fancy platform bases including clear and colored Lucite. Back upper was extended down to the slim rear of high wedge to deliver an illusion of stilettos via contrasted colors and materials:

Like the clothes, Olivier Rousteing let the color and texture do the talking on the shoes this time. Without too much decoration or embroidery, fluidity, relaxed sensuality and softness are what this collection is all about:
Balmain spring 2017 collection was inspired by strong women. “Serene, confident, and modern manner in which they face life,” as explained in the show notes, “Those women never shy away from showing their softer side, sure in the knowledge that there’s no longer any need to shout. The calmness of today’s garden runway reflects the spirit of a new age.”
