Casadei shoe collection for fall/winter 2014-2015 was inspired by the Venice of the Roaring Twenties and the music of Daft Punk, which are so remote yet very related. The harmony of contrasts is what we see in Casadei’s fall 2014 collection, glossy leather contrasting matt suede, shining metallic gold contrasting bright colored leather.
The layers of leather on this upper design reminded us of Venice river shaded with candle lights when the actresses, stars and socialites crossed the San Marco Canal on gondolas to reach palaces ablaze in roaring twenties. The construction of metallic golden and silver contrasting black leather added a vintage yet contemporary beat to the total design, just like Daft Punk’s latest album.
The contrast twist is also noticeable on this design. The collar like red leather upper pieces are connected with an adjustable strap, with heel and toe box constructed in red suede.
Filigree not only inspired Sergio Rossi, but also spotted on Casadei fall 2014 collection. This pointed toe black suede pump features a self-covered heel adorned with golden filigree motifs, just like the whirly-twirly decorative motifs on the Venetian gondolas.
