Christopher Kane Resort 2017 Collection took place in his Mount Street shop, filled with scores of pansies in pots along the walls and artfully arranged mounds of dirt on display shelves. “Pansies are a symbol of freethinking! I like that. I never want to follow trends,” said Christopher Kane “Pansies also look like they’ve got cheeky laughing faces. And they’re all these colors because they’re crossbred. And that’s what I’m doing now—crossbreeding my ideas.”

For the first resort collection of the brand, “It’s not about referencing or marketing. It’s about doing what you think is right, ‘working instinctively.’ ” as expressed in the brand press release.  The collections including boxy jackets, pleated long skirts and fluttering dresses with outsize photo prints of pansies were meant to evoke “a schoolgirl at an awkward age, just blossoming.” said the designer.

Comes with the roomy silhouettes of clothing are the easy breezy shoes delivering a relaxed confident attitude. The bright colored elastic added a playful touch to the pull on ankle boots with comfortable molded rubber soles, with or without pansy prints on the upper. Loafers adorned with sparkly glitter straps and iridescent ankle boots or loafers are add-on to “It was my Cinderella, Disney moment,” said Kane.
