Christopher Kane collection fall winter 2017/2018 was inspired by the uniforms of factory workers and lab technicians. The shoes on the runway are edgy quirky with tough femininity.
Featuring pointy toe, stiletto and Velcro closure strap upper, the patent sandals on the runway came out very futuristic with foam and sponge padded under the straps and on the insole. In bright colors and 3D shapes, the foam and sponge are visually interesting and enhance the design with industrial elements.
Then there were sleek fashion sneakers in bright yellow or black. Fabric upper is strapped down with elastics and release buckle, resulting in very youthful, modern and neutral gender kicks.
The stone decorated Crocs were replaced by the fur lined. Some of the ankle boots are also fur trimmed around the top of the shaft.
The patent glossy holographic leather on the slingback bootie came from the other inspiration of space-craft by artist Ionel Talpazan, whose visionary works of U.F.O.s were also printed all over silk smock dresses.
