Combined the tropical touristy casual chic joyful styles with classic Italian luxurious elements, the shoes on the runway are infused with fun and upbeat attitude, including aquarium platforms base with shells and plants, light-up chunky heels, crab or sea star buckles on the flatform sandals.
The flip flops, which most tourists would walk around in a tropical resort, are logo or floral embroidered, brooch decorated or rhinestone encrusted. The designers didn’t forget their roots in Sicily and reiterated the formula on the shoes with romantic rose sculptures on the base, floral printed Mary-Jane and loafers, color stone encrusted pumps layered with fringes at the back, black lace booties and sparkly peep toe mules.
The runway was decorated with glowing palm trees and sand to further get the fun-in-the-sun message across with big lit-up“Tropico Italiano” at the background. The show was started with a band of Neapolitan dancers in hip-hop styles. The group also came on the stage at the end of the show to join a parade.
“A more personal approach to the design process which is not influenced by seasonal rules or codes,” as explained in the show notes. “There are no longer rules in fashion, but what matters is to remain true to yourself.”
