Marc Jacobs Shoes Resort 2017 Collection

Marc Jacobs Resort 2017 fashion show took place in a showroom at Marc Jacobs’s headquarters, right after he took home the CFDA award for Womenswear Designer of the Year.

The collection, set to a Duran Duran soundtrack, is retro themed piled with ’80’s statement including the model’s hair, studded leather jacket, animal prints, puffy-sleeved dresses, metallic skirts. Some are pinned with bottle caps, flamingos, cigarettes, dice or palm trees. The MTV shirts took us back to the 24-hour music channel in its early days. “We took Fall and made it kitsch, and went from YouTube back to MTV,” said Marc Jacob at backstage.

In keeping with the retro theme, the shoes are mixed with animal print, high glossy metallic or glittered, and teetering platforms. Black and white checker pattern is used on the upper of the loafer with the blue and purple around it hinting the frequent colorful animations of MTV logo between programs.
