The Met Gala , also known as the Costume Institute Gala,  a fundraising event that benefits the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, took place at Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 2) in New York City.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art announced this year’s theme as “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.” The event features an exhibition of over 100 creations of haute couture and ready-to-wear pieces. The event is co-chaired by Taylor Swift, Idris Elba, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, and Apple exec Jonathan Ive.
