Simone Rocha collection fall winter 2017/2018 is about the soft power of women’s strength, diversion and inclusion. The collection may be dialed down on the dreaminess but the shoes are toned up toward ethereal, weird and quirky.
Fur lined slippers have been popular for several seasons. Simone Rocha took the inspiration and enhanced the shoe designs with large volume of faux fur, on both of the inside and outerside.
Mary-Jane pumps are designed with a giant buckle or a ball of fur at the end of top strap. Toe boxes are completely covered in faux fur. Some are grounded with golden metal trimmed self-covered block. Others are on top of cut out clear Lucite block heels.
When not covered by fur, some uppers are decorated with beaded flowers in black, like the oxfords and flatform strap slip on sandals. They were styled with matching socks for a casual chic.
Young to mature, the runway models for Simone Rocha collection fall winter 2017/2018 were casted from diversified age ranges. By doing so, the designer is delivering the message of inclusion. “I want to be very inclusive – it’s what I do. My collections are for all different types of women, and I really wanted to reflect that. It is 100 percent mothers, daughters, granddaughters. It’s something that I’ve really built my identity on, so it was nice to be able to share that this time.” Said the designer.
