Simone Rocha shoes spring summer 2017 at London fashion week are very practical, functional and versatile. Knee high boots are straight tailored adding a fashion flavor of kinky and chic, grounded with Lucite block heels. Multi-strap sandals and oxfords are styled with lace socks for a dramatic effect. Leather upper and plastic heels provided a cool contrast on the shoes, simply in style with delicate texture while packed with attitude.
Simone Rocha spring 2017 collection was inspired by a painting entitled “The Catholic Girls” by the Irish artist William John Leech, which was spotted by the designer in a recent exhibition in Ireland that featured photographs by Jackie Nickerson. “There was a photo of someone wrapped in white plastic working in a field next to a painting of Irish girls—that did it,” said Simone Rocha.
The show was held in the aisle of the gothic Southwark Cathedral in London. “I wanted to take those land girls from the farm and bring them to a pure place,” said Rocha.
