Louis Vuitton men shoes spring 2018 were elevated with extra height of flatforms featuring cross strap sandals, oxfords and sneakers. A book called “The Atlas of Remote Islands: Fifty Islands I Have Not Visited and Never Will” inspired Louis Vuitton men’s spring 2018 collection. The multicultural subtropical vibe of pacific islands was the focus of the designs. The designer wanted something sporty but relaxed tailored.
Sandals were designed with overlapped top and letter printed straps across over. Overlapped upper were studded on the side of flatforms with color rivets. The ash wooden base came from Kim Jones Danish background. Two tone rubber sole grounded the flatform while adding extra sporty flavor.
Oxfords upper were kept simple. With stitching detailing, the ash wood flatform was studded with flat head rivets all the way around and a white line in the middle to define the separations of the two part base.
After Balenciaga introduced high heels for men last spring, Louis Vuitton took the initiative to introduce the flatforms for men. Gender illusion has made its way from clothes to footwear. Unisex fashion is getting popular for the fashion audience who is looking for something more functional and practical, regardless it’s from his or her closet.
